In the Studio of EightyTwo

A look inside the design minds of the experience centre at The Herencia, Singapore.

EightyTwo is more than just an interior design firm. We are a lifestyle studio built on offering bespoke services guided by the requirements of our clients.

There is a rich and rare soulful architecture here, reminiscent of the post-independent style of the 1960s. Inside, the studio combination of bespoke materials finishes with a touch of greenery, focusing on an understated luxury to bring out the tranquillity of the space.

Prelude

Our office is located at Kim Yam Road in a compound called The Herencia. Surrounded by post-independent style shophouses conserved from the 60s, the compound is arcadian and provides tranquillity against the bustle of Robertson Quay.

There were many different design concepts that we came up with but ultimately, we wanted to go with a modern take on a lounge office. This office is intimate to its user. It’s also masculine and has subtle vibes. Through its sophistication, it’s also quite effeminate.

The Abstraction of Our Name

Our designs have always been disciplined, methodical, and has been one that allowed us to evolve and transcend. We just realised as a team we didn’t want to be bound by certain stereotypes - to have a “studio” or “interior design” behind a name, and we liked the abstract meaning behind the number EightyTwo.

We are driven by our passion for interior design and by our cause. Ultimately, we aim to become thought leaders in the industry by providing invaluable insights into the different design services that we provide. We are different because we believe the key to all our timeless designs is not just the balance and harmony that we show in our works but also that of our DNA that defines us not just as designers, but as artists in our own contrivance.

The EightyTwo Welcome

The journey at our studio begins with an ambiance that embraces with warmth and sophistication. A curated setting of furniture beckons to be lounged on as you slip into relaxation. A soft jazz playlist powered by our Bang & Olufsen speaker hums in the background while the luxurious scent by Culti Milano fills the air with an enhanced feeling of indulgence.

Design discussions are held in the intimate setting of our meeting rooms. From the cool sophistication of marble table top to the sensuous feel of leather chairs, we take great consideration of how spaces are experienced in correlation to our senses.
